Our Beginning

Madras Cuts began with curiosity and courage — when two engineers traded their laptops for looms. What started as Matkatus, a D2C passion project celebrating handcrafted textiles, quickly grew into a vibrant community of fabric lovers. But along the way, we realized something bigger: the world needed a better way to source fabrics by the roll, not just by the meter.

Madras Cuts is where tradition meets modern sourcing. We bring together handmade, handloom, and heritage fabrics from across India and make them available for global designers and brands — without middlemen, delays, or uncertainty. From Kutch’s Ajrakh to Pochampally Ikat, from Bengal’s Jamdani to Andhra’s Kalamkari, we curate an ever-growing library of Indian textiles, crafted by artisans and delivered straight to your production pipeline.
